It does. Synthetic identity theft involves a fraudster who mixes real and fake information to create a new identity. These thieves often target Social Security numbers of people who don’t use credit (like children) and use it to apply for credit cards to commit fraud.
Norton 360 with LifeLock Ultimate has a feature specifically for detecting when someone applies for a checking or savings account with your personal information, alerting you to potential synthetic identity theft.
